Kia Ora, my name is Clara Craig! Here at Waves 96.1, I am head of On Air, a host on the Carpool Chronicles from 3pm-7pm and a member of the digital strategy team.

My journey into broadcasting wasn’t straightforward, but nothing great ever is! After doing some work experience and a bit of travelling, I earned my degree from AUT in Communication Studies and Public Relations which gave me a strong set of skills that I get to build on daily. My desire to pursue a career in broadcasting had never left me, so I took a chance and applied for the New Zealand Broadcasting School.

Being On Air pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me the confidence to pursue goals and strengthened my ability as a communicator while digital has given me a strong set practical skills related to social media and content creation. I am constantly open to building on my current strengths and am keen to open every single door that is available to me, all with a smile on my face!

Over time I’ve earned the titles of waitress, retail assistant, office administrator and promotional assistant. Now I’m hoping to earn the title of all-rounder office superstar with you.
